travel log
Upon entering the museum, you first come across this facade of the Oscar C. McCulloch School No. 5. Opening in 1922, the school served disadvantaged children of diverse ethnic backgrounds, including black students, Eastern Europeans, Chinese, and Roma. In addition to education, the school also offered social services such as dental and mental health care as well as day care. In 1968, the school was converted to serve children with mental disorders and learning or emotional disabilities.
