ESCEE.com - 2024 - Rothenburg ob der Tauber V: Sankt Jakob and Burggarten - 13/31
We passed by a Dominican convent, which has now been converted into a museum (like the church, the museum was closed at this hour; its most famous artifact is the 1616 Elector's Tankard which supposedly inspired the 1881 Meistertrunk story... so the one in the Vault is Double-Fake). Behind the convent is the convent garden, which was also locked up at this hour, but we could peer in through the gate. Apparently they grew (among other things) hops for brewing monastic beer in this garden.
