Even here, in the more academic area, there are a few salacious artifacts... but infinitely more PlacardsWithWallsOfText, and most of the artifacts up here are of the less-salacious variety. Downstairs, many of the artifacts on display were torture devices. Up here we'll see a lot of artifacts related to so-called Shame Punishments, such as this one: the "delinquent" (as the placard puts it) would have their arms confined in the iron and their legs confined in the wood as they were displayed in public. Passersby could taunt them, and also were encouraged to tickle the sinner's feet.
