Grappling with public spaces and public acknowledgement of the past was a long-term process. This placard discusses a monument to the victims of Nazism erected in the 60s near the site of the Gestapo HQ. It was often inaccessible to the public. Not until a 2013 renovation is it a suitable site as a memorial, with unfettered public access.
