There's the tomb of King Otto, who suffered from mental illness and never actually ruled. A regent, who ultimately succeeded him as king, ruled in his place. Steves claims that Maximilian I basically saved Munich by defeating the invading Swedes. But Wikipedia says the Swedes successfully invaded and occupied Munich in 1632, during Max I's reign. Hmmmm...
