Having secured sub-$400 airfare nonstop to Paris, I decided to tackle the glaring hole in my map of western Europe: Germany and Switzerland. The majority of this trip was spent in Bavaria (southern Germany), but I also visited Switzerland (Bern and Geneva) as well as Salzburg, Venice, San Marino, Nice, Monaco, Normandy's Mont-st-Michele, Paris, and London.
