The reenactors actually sit among the rest of us tourists, who are cast in the roll of less famous, unnamed burgesses (the House of Burgesses was the body meeting at the convention; the British Crown dismissed the burgesses but they continued meeting in protest). For the most part, their speeches are delivered from their seats so it is very immersive.
