travel log
We started at the Visitor Center. Here we learned primarily about the history of the Great Salt Lake. Although it's the largest saltwater lake in the western hemisphere, it's actually shrunk dramatically. Once upon a prehistoric time, there was Lake Bonneville. As you can see, Lake Bonneville was huge and has mostly dried up. Only the Great Salt Lake and some smaller lakes like Utah Lake remain.
