A sauv blanc (of which we took a bottle with us) was paired with Turkish Delight, and a chenin blanc with "koeksister," basically South African donuts, an Afrikaner recipe based on a similar Dutch pastry, fried, sweet, crunchy and drizzled with cinnamon, lemon and ginger.
