Cape Town does after all have some of the most expensive property in all of Africa. It is also the last bastion of support for the main opposition political party, the Democratic Alliance. Most of the rest of the country is captured by Mandela's ANC, despite allegations that the ANC is pretty corrupt these days and doesn't share Mandela's values. The DA tends to draw disproportionate support from white South Africans.
