The bus next made its way to Constitution Hill in downtown Jozi. Historically, this is the site of The Old Fort, built by Paul Kruger to protect Boer South Africa from British invasion. It also housed a notorious prison which continued to be used after the British takeover and into the apartheid era. Mandela was imprisoned here in 1956 and again in 1962.
