The bus started by taking us through some of the Fanciest parts of town, starting with Melrose Arch. Jozi is a city with a bad reputation for crime and poverty, so it was interesting to see that in a way it's no different from any other city: there are pockets of crime and poverty, and pockets of wealth and safety. Melrose Arch is a gated area with its own security guards. Crime isn't an issue here.
