Our next stop was the Red Pyramid, which oddly I didn't get any shots of from a distance. Of the pyramids at Dahshur, the Red Pyramid looks the most like the famous Giza pyramids. It has lost its limestone coat but is straight, unlike the Bent Pyramid. It is considered to be the first successful straight-sided pyramid built in Egypt. If you climb up these steps, you can descend into the heart of the mausoleum.
