I thought it would be edifying to point out that with bronze sculpture, one can easily determine if there is an area of the statue that has often been touched or rubbed by tourists, usually repeatedly for good luck; this area of the sculpture loses its greenish original tarnish and appears as the lighter gold color of the underlying bronze.
