One of the most interesting pieces in the gallery was here, but for an unexpected reason. The placard to this painting's right, in place of a title, says "[Title Under Consideration]." Apparently the actual title is "Standing Naked African." I have no idea why that title is objectionable, but evidently it has been cancelled by the PC Police. Munch regularly visited circuses to draw, and encountered this dude at a circus: Sultan Abdul Karem (possibly a circus stage name). Munch hired Karem as a "servant, driver, and model."
