We did eventually manage to make our way to (most of) the right places for the audio tour. Barracks, mess halls, and public latrines were all brought to life for us.
Although a man who is presumably John Hopper provides the frame narration, many of the accounts in the audio tour are actually narrated by internees themselves. This really elevated the experience. It was as if the families themselves were walking us through the ruins of their temporary homes.
