Behind the corral is another placita, around which is the home of Manuel Baca y Delgado. This home was built in the 1800s, so it is newer than the front placita. The Baca family is one of many to have lived at this site over the years, and they are probably the family we know the most about since their home is still standing. Manuel was involved in sheep butchering and mercantile. At the end of his life he was called Don Manuel; the "Don" honorific indicates that he was a well respected member of his community.
