The Crystal Geyser is a manmade geyser and it is a cold-water geyser rather than the more common hot-water geysers (such as those in Yellowstone). Unlike hot-water geysers, cold-water geysers are not powered by geothermal activity. Instead, carbon dioxide bubbles in an underground aquifer create pressurized water which can lead to eruptions.
