Apparently Cowboy Clowns are a big thing. Several were inducted. After the fact, we looked more into this and apparently at least in the past (not clear if this is still a current trend), rodeo clowns would distract a bull from attacking a fallen rider, with their colorful clothes and makeup, in addition to providing comic relief.
