We flew from Sydney to Brisbane. We had looked into taking trains to get around, as Australia does link all its major cities by rail, but Oz is BIG, as big as the USA, and does not have high speed rail. So even cities that look close on a map are very far away from one another. It's sadly 15 hours by train between Sydney and Brisbane, and the flight is only 90 minutes.
