I actually did some shopping here, buying various trinkets that I've in general stopped collecting in future travels. I also bought oune souvenir that I would absolutely buy again: a shisha (tobacco water pipe). Buying it here definitely meant I got the best bargain (compared with buying it at a market later in the trip), but it also provided me the most headaches. I had to babysit it as my personal item through all of the various transfers and airports we would use for the rest of the trip, protecting it from careless baggage attendants and airport personnel.
