The next morning, we headed to Boston North Station to catch our train up to Maine. Interestingly, this is actually a stub line that doesn't technically connect to the rest of the Amtrak network. Trains from New York arrive into Boston South and terminate. There are no through trains connecting Boston South to Boston North. Even using the T to connect requires changing lines. This is downright European (cities like London and Paris have multiple rail termini without any through trains)
