Eventually, they do get to spinning. We intentionally sought out the Galata Lodge because it is an actual functioning monastery for adherents of the Mevlevi order. We wanted to see an authentic ceremony, rather than people putting on costumes and doing a performance of spinning. It was very clear to me that this was serious business for these guys, especially the one pictured center here.
