Our next port of call was Kuşadasi, Turkey. While we'll be returning to Turkey later on our own, docking at Kuşadasi conveniently allowed us to visit Ephesus, which is a bit out of the way of the other places in Turkey we planned to visit later. Interestingly, to disembark a cruise ship at Kuşadasi has a special carve-out and does not require a visa, though we needed one for our later independent exploration.
