It was time to see Athens. We only had one day proper in Athens, which was not ideal but we had to cut somewhere to make the trip an acceptable length, and Rick Steves offered an intense one-day-in-Athens itinerary that seemed doable. It was indeed intense, but the rest of the trip would be much more relaxed. We started our touring at the National Archaeological Museum.
