The Rijsttafel ("rice table") at an Indonesian restaurant (we ate at Kartika) was apparently a must-do in Amsterdam. There were several set menus you could choose from, but essentially the idea is this: fill your table with a whole bunch of small plates, including the ubiquitous rice and satay with peanut sauce.
