ESCEE.com - 2015 - Day V: The Garden District and Esplanade Avenue - 8/19
Our next stop was Esplanade Avenue, just east of the Quarter and essentially the Creoles' answer to the Garden District. "If you're going to build big fancy houses, so can we!" The lots aren't as big, and the houses aren't as ornate, but it is still "grander" than the Quarter is anyway. The house with the two flags is the Degas house, where impressionist Edgar lived for a period with his brother.
