Crazy Horse has been under construction since 1948. You can see here on the left what the designer (now deceased - the project continues under the guidance of a private foundation) intended the sculpture to look like. Obviously, it is impossibly far from that goal; essentially all that has been sculpted is Crazy Horse's face. However, the face is huge; it's still impressive and certainly an interesting monument to ambition.
