The Alcaicerķa is a neighborhood of what once was a Moorish souk/bazaar. Interestingly, the Moors were not Arab in any way. They were indigenous to Spain, just the same as Romans or Goths may have been indigenous to the area. While they were devout Muslims, they had no ethnic connection to the Arabian peninsula.
