travel log
Ahem. We have a palace to see. The Alhambra sits on a hill. It's considered by many to be the crown jewel of all Moorish palaces. In fact, it is the symbol of the decline of the Moorish empire. The Christian Reconquista conquered Córdoba and Sevilla by the mid-13th century, and the Muslims were forced to retreat to Granada. This was their final stand before they were defeated by Ferdinand and Isabella at the end of the 15th century and they had to retreat to Africa.
