Women generally perform a version of the dance called soléa, which is slower and more graceful. Even though we went to a place designed specifically for tourists, this was one of the best experiences we had in Spain. It did help that we chose a place that just puts on a flamenco show and nothing else - as opposed to the even-more-touristy dinner-show venues.
