We finally arrived in Madrid, navigating the Metro from the bus station to our hotel. Though we were far behind schedule, we did arrive on the intended day and didn't have to change our accommodations. Today, we had intended to daytrip to the nearby towns of Avila and Salamanca, so that was what essentially got cut from the itinerary.
