travel log
Nearby is the headquarters of the National Guard (nationally-guarded by NationalGUARDs lulul). This was where dictator Antonio Salazar was ousted in a mostly peaceful revolution (only five people died), called the Carnation Revolution because revolutionaries put carnations into the barrels of the military's guns. The revolution was successful because the revolutionaries had already rallied key members of the military to their side.
