We headed down to the base of the Montjuic hill, taking these stairs in the background instead of the funicular. At the top of the stairs, on Montjuic itself, is the Palau Nacional, which was built for the 1929 World Fair. It currently houses the National Art Museum of Catalonia. At the foot of the stairs is a plaza with the Magic Fountain.
