One thing we unfortunately missed seeing was a sardana dance. This traditional Catalonian dance is often viewed with patriotic pride as a celebration of Calatonian identity. There are a few places in Barcelona where apparently they are popular, but it didn't work out for us logistically to seek them out. Instead, we saw this sculpture of the dance, which is done in a circle and allows people to join in (or bow out) mid-dance.
