Like any FancyCruise, our Yangtze cruise had constant onboard programming throughout the day. There was always something to see or do. Here, ship physician Dr. Liu gives a demonstration of "cupping," a questionable traditional-medicine practice still used in China (and some parts of the Middle East). Flame-heated cups are placed on a patient's skin creating suction, and it is supposed to... alleviate pain or something? My research suggests there are no serious studies proving its benefits.
