The other primary reason for our visit to Chongqing is that this is where we will board a cruise ship for a journey down the Yangtze River, through the Three Gorges. A controversial new dam in that area (the Three Gorges Dam) is resulting in dramatically rising water levels. This bridge in Chongqing was built just recently on account of that.
